Employee Education:
PCI strongly suggests that any newly implemented
program focus on the employee education. Once there is an understanding of
the process and procedures involved, there is greater acceptance of the benefits
of a drug/alcohol-free environment.
The training is customized to reflect the
procedures established in your company’s policy. Explanations are presented of
the safeguards established for the employee’s confidentiality and the security
of the testing process. All questions are answered to instill a sense of
confidence. The usual training includes topics such as, how drugs and
alcohol affect each person’s personal life, professional life and the safety
of others. The information is given in a straightforward manner with the
use of real life examples, a resource manual and by audio visual aids.
